Dr. M. Lamont Littlejohn, Jr.

The Reverend Doctor M. Lamont Littlejohn, Jr. is the Servant Pastor/Teacher of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina. A native of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, he is the son of Deacon Marion and Mrs. Jeanette Littlejohn. He commenced his proclamation ministry at age 17, and his pastoral ministry at age 26. Since 2003 he has served Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and under his leadership, the congregation has experienced spiritual growth in God’s Word and spiritual direction in the effectiveness of “doing” ministry.

Dr. Littlejohn believes in theological and biblical preparation – with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. He received his Master of Divinity degree from the M. Christopher White School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from the M. Christopher White School of Divinity at Gardner-Webb University. Dr. Littlejohn serves as an Adjunct Professor at Gardner-Webb University and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Gardner-Webb University. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Cleveland Community College (in addition: he served as Chairman from 2019-2022, becoming the first African American to hold this position). He has received recognition from both Religious Organizations and the North Carolina Public School System.

Dr. Littlejohn has traveled to Kenya, Africa and has experienced preaching and teaching upon the African continent in the city of Magori, Kenya. He has also experienced study tours in: Israel (Holy Land), Egypt, Turkey, and Greece. His desire is to be a son of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and his passion is to connect with all types of people and build relationships with those individuals – one soul at a time!

Dr. Littlejohn is married to the wonderful and lovely H. Nicole (Nikki) Littlejohn, his best friend of over 20 years. They are blessed with two children, a daughter, L’mia and a son, Lamont III.
